Our late Secretary, Bernd Greulich, introduced our club to the PSA competitions last year. And this year Kevin King has taken over as our PSA competition coordinator. Thanks Kevin for the great job you are doing!

Last Year’s 2014 Results

Last year (2013-2014) was APS’s first time participating in the PSA competitions, and we did quite well; APS finished 7th out of 32 competing clubs in our Division (E). The club’s we competed with were from all around the United States, and around the World.  In fact, the Chorley Photographic Society, hailing from the United Kingdom, took first place in our Division. Our members’ winning images from last year included:

Honors Awards

Blue Pansy by Luis Pita

The Majestic Taj Mahal by Mike Shaefer

Dreaming in White by Enrique Duprat

Elephant Heaven by Mike Shaefer

Honorable Mentions

Ruby Beach by Marth Harich

Praying Mantis by Stan Greenberg

Beginning of a New Day by Mike Shaefer

This Year’s 2015 Competitions

For 2015 we are competing with 24 clubs in Division D, again including the very talented Chorley Photographic Society.  Every club enters 6 images (from 6 different members) for each of 4 competitions during the year - November, January, March and May. About 10% of the entries receive an Honors Award and 10% an Honorable Mention, with one image selected for Best in Show for each competition. Judging is conducted by clubs competing in a different division.

An amazing ~120 clubs participate in the PSA’s Projected Image Division competitions.  And we all thank Bob Benson, PSA’s volunteer and coordinator of that Division, for his amazing organization of this whirlwind of images, judging and results!
