December 11, 2014

The club celebrated our members’ 2014 accomplishments with a wonderful awards banquet at Petit Auberge. For the first time in many years one person, the incredibly talented Mike Shaefer, swept all the Photographer of the Year honors - Monochrome, Color, Digital and Creative Photographer of the Year!  That’s two years in a row as Creative Photographer of the Year for Mike - an outstanding accomplishment. Who will “step up their game” this year to challenge Mike’s creative eye? Only time will tell.

Ru Britton’s diligent work over the past two years arranging and organizing an incredible array of programs for the Club netted her the Helene Mewborn Service Award for 2014.

Thanks go to Helene Mewborn for arranging the excellent food and banquet details through Petit Auberge, to Luis Pita for his way too humorous interlude which included the hilarious “technical” details of digital camera battery management while visiting the rest room, to Al McLeod for his deft management of ribbons, medals and trophies, to Don Stephens for his loyal assistance producing posters for the auction, and to all APS members who made for a fun and memorable evening, as well as an excellent year for the club!
