The Atlanta Journal Constitution recently honored Ruth Gogel for serving her senior living community through her photography. (November 12, 2018 AJC article.) She and other residents of Clairmont Place organized themselves to regularly show their art and photography, both in the Clarimont Place Gallery, and wherever art was needed throughout the 7-floor community.

The residents love it.  And that's no surprise to APS: Ruth has curated our club's annual Salon Exhibition for decades. As we know well, she is an outstanding photographer. In fact, she was the APS Creative Photographer of the Year for 1988, was Color Photographer of the year for 1981, 82 and 92 and earned 10+ Best in Show awards over the years. Our photography club is very blessed by her still active membership, even at age 91.

She recently showed some of her striking abstract photographs during our 2018 Salon Exhibition. Here are some examples.

Ruth continues to be a wonderful inspiration to everyone. She served APS as President for 1984, Secretary for 1982-83, and as Competition Chair for 1992. She is always a leader among her peers!
