Six Atlanta Photographic Society shooters and several other guests took part in an excellent field trip to Birmingham, Alabama the weekend of May 1-2.  All arrangements were ably planned by Don Stephens, so we had great subject matter to focus on: historic Sloss Furnaces Saturday morning and the Barber Motorsports Museum Saturday afternoon. Both were “target-rich” environments for any photographer.

Several shooters also made side trips to an old Jewish cemetery near downtown and to the Vulcan Statue and Museum. Paiboon steered us to an excellent Thai restaurant, Taste of Thailand, Friday evening. And our lunch Saturday at Saw’s Barbecue, after an impromptu motor tour of the area nearby, refueled the crew for the afternoon’s shooting.

Here follow’s a small selection of additional images our APS photographers discovered, plus a few additional photos of some APS members in action.
