2nd Place Award
Among the 25 clubs competing in the Small Clubs (<75 members) Division of this year's 2021 Photographic Society of America (PSA) web site contest, your beautiful Atlanta Photographic Society website was awarded 2nd Place!
That's four awards during the last five years (2nd Place - 2017, 1st Place 2018, 1st Place 2020, and 2nd Place 2021)!
Judging Process and Excerpts From Judge's Comments
Web sites were scored by three independent judges on 36 factors in these broad areas: Home Page, General Content, Features, Professionalism, Navigation, and Technical Design, plus bonus points based on site aspects that are particularly well done, creative, innovative or unique.
All three judges gave the APS site a perfect score (30/30) for professionalism. Here are a few excerpts from their very complimentary evaluations:
Judge 3: Beautiful, robust website. Clean design and layout. Beautiful website with a layout unlike any other in this competition. Really like the way the home page uses multiple hero images to differentiate content sections.

Judge 2: I find the approach for listing events, competitions, Programs, etc., is VERY informative. A short table listing the event, clicking on the event provide a GREAT deal of good information about the event. KUDOS! Somebody has done a lot of work for this.

Judge 1: This is a well done site with very few problem areas. I’m awarding 2 [bonus] points for hav[ing] SSL security certificate and 4 [bonus] points for the general look and feel of the site. This club has a definite advantage of having a professional web designer as a member. Nice job.

Based on the judge's input, we've already made several improvements including:
Resources and Training are strongly emphasized with highlighted links to thirty-three (33) News & Views (blog) articles, so far, covering exposure, composition, lighting, perspective, video and numerous other topics for the beginner to the professional. All of these were written and edited by APS members! Check it out at Resources and Training.
A Plethora of Resources and Training
Additional improvements already implemented include: a direct link to PSA from our Home Page, improved access to Calendar links, and easy "contact" access for Site Feedback.

Congratulations to the 1st Place Winners!
The Charlotte Camera Club and the Pikes Peak Camera Club tied for First Place in the Small Clubs Division, and the Images Alberta Camera Club was awarded First Place in the Large Clubs Division.
